Access to the gallery
23 Church Street and the first-floor Old Mayor’s Parlour are over 600 years old. It is not possible to put in a lift or other assisted access.
The access from the street is shared with John McKellar Designer Jewellery through the blue door. There are three 5cm high stone steps outside the door (about 29cm wide x 195cm high).
There is another stairway with four steps to a turn, with five more steps up to The Craft Gallery door. The treads are deep and wooden. There are bannisters on both sides. There are then four carpetted steps up into the space. The staircase is one person width. Handrails or wall on both sides to assist.
